Honor is well-known for offering mid-range smartphones to the market, but after its split from Huawei, Honor has begun producing more difficult and market-competitive handsets.
Now, the company is taking a major step forward by entering the foldable smartphone market.
After the Oppo Find N, speculations of an Honor foldable began to circulate on the internet, and it wasn’t until recently when a Twitter account known as @Rodent950 gave us our first glimpse at the Honor Magic Fold 5G.
In terms of style, the Honor Magic Fold 5G is quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. The outside screen is on the back of the phone’s left panel, and when fully extended, the phone shows an 8.0′′ tablet-sized OLED display with a resolution of 2200p.
The smartphone is rumoured to be powered by a Snapdragon 888 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. In terms of camera configuration, leaks indicate a 108MP primary camera with a 16MP selfie shooter.
We anticipate that the phone will run Android 12 and contain a 4500 mAh battery with fast charging functionality.
The Magic Fold 5G is slated to be released in the first quarter of 2022, and it will purportedly be followed by another foldable smartphone from Honor called the Honor Magic Wing, which will sport a clamshell design factor.
The Honor Magic Fold would be a foldable smartphone, whilst the Honor Magic Wing may be a folding smartphone or a laptop. Details on this will be revealed in the following weeks.
