Honor is on its approach to releasing its first clamshell folding phone to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. Honor is following in Huawei’s footsteps once again. The Chinese company has teased its first flip phone several times, and it is slated to debut in China in January 2022.
Digital Chat Station, a well-known Chinese tipster, has leaked some interesting details about the Magic V before its debut. With these specs, it would be the most powerful folding phone ever. This is due to the fact that, according to the source, the Magic V will be the first folding phone to employ the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
Not only that, but it will boast the fastest charging speed ever seen on a foldable phone. The Huawei P50 Pocket, with its 40W cable charging, is now the quickest charging phone, but the Magic V is expected to reach 66W.
Its inner display will most likely be a 120Hz panel with a corner punch-hole selfie camera, while the outer screen will most likely be a 90Hz panel. A centered punch-hole selfie shooter and a little bend on the right edge of the outer screen are possible.
The main camera on the back will most likely be a 50MP triple camera arrangement, but no other specifics are available at this time.
It’s unknown whether the Honor Magic V will be available in other countries, but given Huawei has confirmed a global launch, we expect Honor to follow suit. We expect Google Mobile Services on top of Android 12 on the Magic V, unlike Huawei’s offering.
