The Motorola Edge X30 is the first flagship to employ the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, which was released last week.
The Motorola Edge X30 comes in two variants, one with a special edition stylish under-display selfie camera and the other with a punch hole for the selfie camera. The rest of the Motorola characteristics are the same for both variants.
Motorola also revealed the Moto S30, which would be powered by the Snapdragon 888+.
The Motorola Edge will go on sale for the first time in China on December 15th.
Design & Display
The Edge X30 has a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Both handset models support 10-bit color and HDR+ content.
The selfie camera is housed in a tiny punch hole immediately below the earpiece on the standard Edge X30.

A comparable module is buried beneath the display in the special edition Edge X30.
Internals & Storage
The X30 runs on Android 12. It has LPDDR5 RAM in capacities of 8GB and 12GB, as well as UFS 3.1 storage. The Edge X30 has an internal storage capacity of 128GB or 256 GB.
Camera
The Motorola Edge X30’s main camera has a 50MP lens and an OmniVision OV50A 1/1.55-inch sensor with OIS. The smartphone produces 2.0m pixels thanks to 4-in-1-pixel binning. A second 50MP ISOCELL S5KGM1 ultrawide snapper and a third 2MP depth of field sensor are also included in the smartphone.
The Motorola Edge X30 can effortlessly record 8K footage.
The Motorola Edge X30’s selfie camera has a 60MP lens with a 1/2.8-inch sensor and 1.2m pixels.
Battery & Pricing
The Motorola Edge X30 has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 68W wired charging.
The Edge X30 will be priced starting at CNY 3199, or $501 for an 8/128GB model. The 8/256GB Edge X30 costs $532, while the 12/256GB costs $564.
