In July 2021, OnePlus announced the Nord 2 5G, a follow-up to the first Nord phone, and has now crammed the essential specs of the Nord 2 into a new device. A scaled-down version of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G, the Nord Core Edition 2 5G, is now available.

Design & Display

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G comes with a 6.43-inch 90Hz AMOLED display. The phone is significantly smaller at 7.8mm, but it still features a headphone jack and a microSD card slot, something the Nord 2 had.

The Nord 2 5G comes in two colour options: Gray Mirror and Bahama Blues.

Internals & Storage

The device is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 900 chipset and includes 6GB or 8GB of RAM, as well as 128GB of internal storage that can be expanded with a microSD card.

The phone boots up with Android 11 on top of OxygenOS 11.3 installed.


A 64MP main lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor are all housed in a redesigned camera island on the phone’s back.

The selfie camera on the Nord 2 has a 16MP lens instead of the 32MP lens on the Nord 2.

Battery & Pricing

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G’s 4,500mAh battery supports 65W SuperVOOC quick charging. According to the company, it can charge to 100% in 32 minutes.

A base model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage costs $397. It will be available in India on February 22nd, and in Europe on March 10th.
