The latest WhatsApp beta version suggests that the Status function will be made more accessible in the near future. WABetaInfo, the tech blog that discovers forthcoming WhatsApp features, was the first to notice the feature.
What’s New?
According to the source, the new version will allow you to check the status of your contacts directly from the chat list. This was first seen during the WhatsApp Desktop beta’s development, but it now appears that it will be available for phones as well. The image below depicts how it will appear.

You will no longer need to open the Status tab to see what your friends and family are up to after the update. You’ll soon be able to see everyone’s status updates in the chat, which is ideal for individuals who don’t like to switch tabs. According to WABetaInfo, the feature cannot be turned off through the settings.
WhatsApp is also working on a variety of other features, including a message edit button, a message undo button, and more. It’s unknown when these features will be available to the general public, but they’re in the works for the time being.
