In China, Xiaomi recently released the Xiaomi 12, 12X, and 12 Pro. The previously leaked Xiaomi 12 Ultra will shortly join its brothers following the Chinese Spring Festival, according to popular source Digital Chat Station.
The festival is planned to begin on February 1st, thus an official launch should take place in the middle or end of February. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra, like the other Xiaomi 12 models, will first be available in China before expanding abroad.
The Xiaomi 12, codenamed L1, will have a periscope super-telephoto lens as well as other camera features.
The smartphone has Leica-powered camera sensors, according to a prior leak. Leica just ended a long-term agreement with Huawei, which could lead to a new collaboration with Xiaomi.
A rear quad-camera system with a 50MP Samsung GN5 primary lens, a 48MP 2x zoom lens, an 8MP lens with 5x zoom, and a 48MP sensor with 10x zoom was also mentioned in previous leaks.
A circular primary camera island was shown in a Xiaomi 12 Ultra case leak. In contrast to the Mi 11 Ultra, which has a rectangular camera module and a secondary display, the 12 Ultra will not have one.
Similar to the Xiaomi 12 Pro, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is likely to be 6.5 to 6.6 inches in size with a 2K screen resolution. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC will power it, and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner will be included. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will have 120W fast charging capability, just like the Xiaomi 12 Pro.
