MediaTek is quickly establishing itself as a major challenger to Qualcomm. The Taiwanese chipmaker used to be known for mid-range chipsets, but it has recently shifted its attention to flagship-grade smartphones.
The Dimensity 9000 was released at the end of 2021 as the company’s most powerful chipset to date, competing against top-tier SoCs such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Exynos 2200, A15 Bionic, and others.
Oppo has recently confirmed that the Dimenisty 9000 would be included in the company’s upcoming flagship phone, the Oppo Find X5. Oppo’s official Weibo account confirmed the news, hinting that the gadget will be launched in China soon. The international model is expected to employ the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.

As is traditional, the Oppo Find X5, X5 Pro, X5 Lite, and X5 Neo will be among the four phones in the Find X5 series. The Find X5 and Find X5 Pro are expected to be introduced initially, followed by the less costly models. Low-cost phones will most likely utilise previous-generation high-end CPUs, such as the Snapdragon 778G.
According to the Weibo tweet, the Oppo Find X5 series will be available in China on February 24, 2022. This indicates that a global rollout will take place in the next month or two.
