India legend Sunil Gavaskar Predicts World Cup 2023 Winner September 12, 2024

Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar revealed qualities that make England the favorites to win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.

On October 5 at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, England will begin the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 with the first match of its title defense against New Zealand.

The match will be the last of the current season.

When discussing the England team, Sunil Gavaskar noted that the team stands out from the rest because it is a great all-around side.

“The defending champions, England, have two or three elite all-rounders who can alter the course of a game with both bat and ball because of the caliber of ability they possess at the top of the order, the batting order. They also have a highly talented and seasoned bowling lineup, which makes them the current favorites in my opinion, he added.

It is important to note that England captain Jos Buttler stated the team’s goal is to win the competition rather than defend their championship.

“We’re building well and aren’t making any defenses. Jos Buttler made this statement following his team’s 3-1 ODI series victory over New Zealand earlier last month. “We’re trying to go there and win a World Cup, and we’re in the same position as every other team,” he added.

Jacque Kallis, a former South Africa cricket player, had prophesied that the captain would be the player who scored the most runs.

“Jos Buttler, in my opinion, will score the most runs. An outside call, but given the circumstances, I like him. I think, oh, he’s going to be the one man that sticks up, along with England having a successful World Cup,” he remarked.
